HOW ARE FLAT PANEL MONITORS REPAIRED? The main components of a flat panel monitor are the LCD screen and 2 to 4 printed circuit boards which supply the power, the signal processing from the video card, and the function menu processing controls for the picture presentation on the LCD screen. We actually are able to repair most of the problems which occur on these circuit boards by using specialized surface mount equipment for component chip level replacement, such as surface mount capacitors, transistors, diodes, resistors, and transformer coils. There are approximately 800 to 1,000 individual components in the average flat panel monitor.
The inside of a monitor looks something like this...............

We replace parts that sometime are very small that look like this...........

We have been in the monitor repair business since 1991 and have successfully repaired thousands of monitors. We love what we do and take pride in the quality of work. We ask that you don't send in a monitor that someone has already attempted to repair because of the delicate nature of the components and the intricate circuitry of the boards, they will be less reliable.
WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS DO FLAT PANEL MONITORS HAVE ?
Typical repairable flat panel monitor problems are
WHEN DO MONITORS EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS?
The average monitor will need repairs in 2 to 4 years. Repaired monitors will generally last the same amount of time they did originally. Note, it always helps to extend the monitor life by turning the unit off when not in use, ie, the end of the day.
HOW DO YOU SHIP A FLAT PANEL MONITOR?
Take the stand off the monitor (usually this involves removing 4 screws and store them in the back of the monitor so you can find them later) and wrap the monitor in bubble wrap. A box in a box is a good method. Have sufficient cushion (3 - 4") between the sides of the monitor and the outside sturdy box.

Enclose the repair form and send it to us by ground shipment. We will use your packing material to return the unit to you via UPS ground
HOW DOES A WIDESCREEN MONITOR COMPARE TO A SQUARE MONITOR?
A square monitor has a screen height of about 11 1/2" to 12", as opposed to a widescreen monitor that has a height of about 10", thus you lose about 2" in height. If you are using your monitor for spreadsheets, Internet, and work papers you will notice that you will have to scroll down a lot on a widescreen monitor to see the lost 2" of the screen. A widescreen monitor, in our opinion, is best used if you are going to watch DVDs or TV on your monitor. You will also lose some screen area, equal to about 4" by 6" on the widescreen monitor due to the decrease in height versus the small increase in width.
