HOW ARE FLAT PANEL MONITORS REPAIRED? The main components of a flat panel monitor are the LCD screen and 2 to 4 printed circuit boards which supply the power, the signal processing from the video card, and the function menu processing controls for the picture presentation on the LCD screen.  We actually are able to repair most of the problems which occur on these circuit boards by using specialized surface mount equipment for component chip level replacement, such as surface mount capacitors, transistors, diodes, resistors, and transformer coils.  There are approximately 800 to 1,000 individual components in the average flat panel monitor.

We have been in the monitor repair business for over 17 years and have successfully repaired over 44,000 monitors.  We ask that you don't send in a monitor that someone has already attempted to repair because of the delicate nature of the components and the intricate circuitry of the boards.

WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS DO FLAT PANEL MONITORS HAVE ?

Typical repairable flat panel monitor problems are no picture, dead, no green power light, very dim pictures, or the picture will shut off in seconds to minutes.    We find that about 90% of the flat panel monitors which come in for repair will be successfully repaired by us.

SHOULD YOU REPAIR A FLAT PANEL MONITOR OR PURCHASE NEW ?

The average new name brand flat panel monitor even for small sizes is over $200.00.   There are off brands which could run $20 - $40 cheaper with proportionately less picture quality and life expectancy.  Our repair prices are under $100.00 with typically no money paid up front.

Most of the flat panels which come into us for repair are able to be repaired.  Repaired monitors normally will run for years again. Click on the repair form link below and not only will you save money but you will be environmentally prudent.

We will generally repair about 90% of the flat panel monitors which we seen. There is typically no money up front on our repairs.   If we can't repair the monitor I will tell you why.  If you need it back we have a $49.00 bench charge and we will reassemble the unit for return to you, or at your option, we will scrap it here and there will still be no charge to you.

It usually takes 3 working days to repair and test the monitor and then we will give you a call for pickup, or it's on its way back to you via the shipping carrier for our national customers.

These flat repair rates are for units not previously worked on elsewhere.  About 98% of the time we can stay with the amount quoted and your approval will be needed before any changes to the quote are made.  Our warranty is on the entire unit, not just the parts repaired for 30 days.  Repaired units generally run for years again.

We try to make it as simple and quick as possible - it's like having a friend in the business!

WHEN DO FLAT PANEL MONITORS EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS?

The average flat panel monitor will need repair in 2 to 4 years.  Repaired monitors will generally repair the same amount of time they did originally.  Note, it always helps to extend the monitor life by turning the unit off when not in use, ie, the end of the day.
